Coldplay’s New Album Details
Coldplay is putting the finishing touches on its fourth album, the successor to X & Y, which is supposed to go into labor during the first half of 2008 via Capitol. The band’s website has been flirting with fans for months and recently uncovered the titles to two new Coldplay numbers, “Famous Old Painters” and “Glass of Water”, that are appearing on their upcoming album.
What else can we expect from Coldplay’s fourth baby? 1) It’s going to be 42 minutes long. 2) In July, Coldplay reported that after recording the album in Latin America that it has Hispanic influences, and 3) with Brian Eno producing the album it is bound to show some signs of experimentation.

Radiohead, XL Complete Deal For ‘In Rainbows’
‘Radiohead has ended weeks of speculation by confirming it has struck a deal with British indie label XL Recordings for the physical release of its new album, "In Rainbows."
The deal is expected to cover territories outside North America, leaving the band free to sign a separate deal there, but no further details have yet been made available.
A release date for the physical CD has also not been given, but sources suggest it will coincide with the Dec. 3 arrival of the "discbox" edition of "In Rainbows" available only from Radiohead.com. Others speculate it may not appear until next year.
The band broke the industry rulebooks when they made "In Rainbows" available for download on Oct. 10, with fans able to name their own price. No sales figures have been released, but the band’s manager Bryce Edge told Billboard recently that reports of 1.2 million were "exaggerated."
London-based XL, which operates under the umbrella of the Beggars Group, last year released Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke’s critically lauded solo album, "The Eraser," which was nominated for the annual Mercury Music Prize.’

If there was a world where CD’s, box sets, and records interacted on the shelves then Pink Floyd would have just created the biggest and badest pretentious trash talking monster of them all, taunting the poor old vinyl’s for being ‘fogies’ and calling the surrounding box sets “Small Fries”. On December 4, Pink Floyd is unleashing the 16-disc King Kong of box sets entitled Oh By the Way. Oh by the way, in case you are wondering if this is a Season One DVD release of a new network TV show staring Pink Floyd, your wrong, it’s merely an absurdly thorough box set containing the band’s entire studio discography. I may know people that buy seasons of 24 and watch them straight through in a day, but mad props to anyone who can conquer this box set.
The gargantuan box set travels throughout the career of the revolutionary band opening with the 1967 debut The Piper at the Gates of Dawn to its 1994 release The Division Bell. If the loads of music aren’t convincing enough for Floyd fans to pick up the 8 lb. box set, it also boasts a portrait collage from the bands visual collaborator Storm Thorgerson and a 20" by 30" poster.
Upon its release, only 10,000 limited imported box sets will be available to the United States
Oh By the Way includes:
The Piper at the Gates of Dawn
A Saucer Full of Secrets
More
Ummagumma
Atom Heart Mother
Meddle
Obscured by Clouds
Dark Side of the Moon
Wish You Were Here
Animals
The Wall
The Final Cut
A Momentary Lapse of Reason
The Division Bell
