Spend the last evening of 2007 dirty dancing in the streets of downtown LA at the first-ever Hard NYE Music Festival. Thrown by the sultans of indie music at Dim Mak Records, the rip-roaring NYE bash will have festival-goers grabbing inappropriate body parts in time to 2 Live Crew’s incendiary, old-school verses, and romping and vamping to Peaches’ over-sexed kink anthems. On a (slightly) more innocent tip, Justice’s crunchy electro-house beats exhort crowds to dance, dance, and dance, while turntable impresarios Steve Aoki and Jason Bentley spin in between, ensuring that the only time you’ll have to stop moving is to kiss your date(s) at midnight.

BLACKBERRY CURVE, PEARL, AND 8800 – NEW FLASHY COLORS (THE COLORWARE TREATMENT)

Colorware, the company that spruces up iPods, iMacs, iPhones, Zunes and Xbox 360s are coming back with a series of new items starting with BlackBerries on New Year’s Eve. If you don’t already have a BlackBerry Curve, Pearl or 8800 series, you can pick one up pre-colored directly from them. If you already do have one, you can send your current phone in for colorization. Seems like everyone and there mother has a Crackberry nowadays, especially in the clothing/fashion and music communities, where the flashier things are the cooler they make the person who owns it. The Sidekicks and iPhones don’t even stand a chance.

LRG x G-SHOCK – ‘TIME IS MONEY’ WATCH

The hot trend this holiday season seems to be doing collabs with G-Shock. BAPE just dropped a G-Shock watch (click for more info), and now LRG has gotten together with the watch company to produce an ultra-limited (500 pieces) watch that will hit ten select accounts next week and retail for $250. NYC heads can scoop it up first at the Complex Platinum Club store, out of towners will have to hunt LRG premium accounts for it. White rubber’s the new bling, get with it or get lost.

SUCKS FOR YOU, PARIS HILTON

“Barron Hilton, the 80-year-old son of the founder of the worldwide hotel chain that carries the family name, has earmarked 97 percent of his vast fortune – nearly $2.3 billion – to the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, to help the homeless with housing, find safe water in developing countries and assist other good causes around the world, it has been announced.

To Barron’s heirs – who include Paris – will go the remaining three percent: some $69 million, which is said to be taxable.

According to calculations by New York’s Daily News, Paris, who once foresaw a $100 million inheritance, is now likely looking at $5 million.

In a statement, Barron Hilton said that his father, Conrad, had set the example and bequeathed 97 percent of his money to the charitable foundation, which the elder Hilton founded in 1944, “and I am proud to follow my father’s example.”
